About the Role

The Boulder Public Library is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Archivist to join our team. As an Archivist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and preserving our vast collection of historical documents and artifacts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collection Management: Assist in the acquisition, cataloging, and preservation of historical documents and artifacts.
  • Research and Reference: Provide research assistance to patrons and staff, and assist in the development of research guides and other educational materials.
  • Outreach and Programming: Collaborate with the library's outreach and programming team to develop and implement programs and services that promote the use of our collections.
  • Digitization and Digital Asset Management: Assist in the digitization of historical documents and artifacts, and manage our digital asset collection.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Library Science, History, or a related field, and a minimum of two years of experience in a library or archival setting.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent research and analytical skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience with digital asset management and digitization software.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working 20-30 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, and will be expected to be flexible and adaptable in their work.
