Housing Coordinator

Brilliant Corners is seeking a skilled Housing Coordinator - Los Angeles County Housing Solutions Specialist to join our team.
About the Role:This role will be responsible for providing direct services to formerly homeless individuals throughout Los Angeles County. You will work closely with program participants, case managers, and property providers to ensure successful housing retention and well-being.
Responsibilities:- Assist Program Participants: Collaborate with program participants, case managers, and property providers to navigate public housing agencies and facilitate smooth transitions into scatter-site units, project-based units, and residential facilities.
- Housing Placements and Assignments: Work with the Housing Acquisitions team to assist with housing placements and assignments, ensuring optimal outcomes for program participants.
- Unit Inspections and Wellness Checks: Conduct regular unit inspections and wellness checks to ensure program participants' well-being and unit habitability.
- Housing and Tenant-Related Emergencies: Respond promptly to housing and tenant-related emergencies during business hours and after-hours.
- Reasonable Accommodations and Unit Modifications: Assess the need for reasonable accommodations/unit modifications and assist program participants in obtaining necessary information and documentation.
- Educating Community Members: Educate community members about the housing needs of identified program participants and the importance of supportive housing.
- Maintenance Requests: Submit and follow up on tenant maintenance requests.
- Progress Notes, Files, and Correspondence: Maintain thorough and accurate progress notes, files, and correspondence while maintaining confidentiality.
- Data Systems Updates: Update multiple data systems with participant information.
- Home Visits and Phone Calls: Routinely make home visits and phone calls to program participants while exercising appropriate boundaries.
- Meetings and Trainings: Attend agency staff meetings, trainings, department meetings, and case conferences.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor or Program Manager.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Professional Experience: At least one year of work experience in non-profit human services.
- Knowledge and Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, willingness to travel throughout Los Angeles County, possession of a valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and automobile insurance, access to reliable transportation, basic computer knowledge, MS Word and Excel proficiency, flexibility in scheduling and prioritizing tasks.
