Appointment Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Scheduling Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for patients and customers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless scheduling experiences. This role is critical to the success of Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS), as it directly impacts patient satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs to determine appropriate scheduling with healthcare providers, ensuring timely and efficient service.
• Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure accurate and up-to-date scheduling information.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of MCHS policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
• Stay current with changes in healthcare policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure optimal scheduling practices.

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Keyboard, computer, and telephone proficiency.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a healthcare facility, including direct patient contact or customer service experience.
• Completion of a Medical Terminology course or a vocational technical Health Unit Coordinator Program, Medical Office Specialist, or Medical Secretary.
