Mainframe Developer Job Description

At ICONMA, we are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team. As a Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and Unix shell scripting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and Unix shell scripting.
  • Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including BA, Dev Leads, offshore teams, and LOBs, to ensure requirements are met and development is on track.
  • Follow change management processes to ensure smooth implementation of new changes and enhancements.
  • Interact with clients and vendors on a daily basis to ensure development and post-launch support are successful.

Requirements:

  • 8-9 years of experience in mainframe development, with a focus on COBOL, JCL, and Unix shell scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 and VSAM databases.
  • Experience with TWS, Endeavor, and other mainframe tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • SQL and Transmission (BizLink and NDM) knowledge.
  • Experience with Tivoli, Java, and other banking and card processing technologies.
