This role is part of the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program, which offers opportunities for individuals aged 55 and over to collaborate with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through National Experienced Workforce Solutions.
Role Responsibilities:As a Laboratory Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Laboratory Branch with various technical functions, including instrument upkeep and database oversight.
- Engaging in health and safety tasks to ensure a secure working environment.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in laboratory or scientific roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Your duties will encompass:
- Supporting chemists with data entry and management within LIMS.
- Assisting in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Providing support for shipping and receiving processes.
- Managing consumable inventory and adhering to safety protocols.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Participate in annual training sessions on EPA policies and procedures.
- Understand health and safety considerations relevant to laboratory environments.
- Utilize required safety equipment, including goggles, lab coats, and gloves.
