Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Safety Engineer to join our Flight Safety and Mission Assurance organization. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our systems, paving the way for safe access to space.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering teams to understand system operations and generate safety controls
  • Identify areas for design improvements to minimize risk to people and property
  • Participate in design reviews to communicate safety analysis and outcomes to internal and external partners
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering or a related field with experience in aerospace, aviation, or a similar safety-critical industry
  • Experience performing system safety activities, including functional hazard analyses, crew survivability analysis, safety data package, human error assessment, and range safety compliance
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical circuit diagrams
  • Strong safety and mission assurance fundamentals
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical partners
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience performing system safety analyses and certification of human-rated space systems
  • Experience performing compliance assessment of system safety processes and products against external standards, including Range Safety, NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882, or ARP-4761
