Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Midwife to join our team at FamilyCare Health Centers. As a Nurse Midwife, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal, and gynecologic care.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical exams, obtain medical histories, and order diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide education to patients and their families on reproductive health and primary care.
  • Participate in research, educational activities, and the teaching of students.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in nurse midwifery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives or a successor organization.
  • License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to practice nurse-midwifery in the state of West Virginia.
  • Current RN license for the state of West Virginia.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain privileges as an independent allied health professional at Charleston Area Medical Center.
  • Prescriptive authority through the WV Board of Nurses (if eligible).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in nurse midwifery care, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex patient situations and develop effective solutions.
