Job Summary:

The RN Pre-op/PACU is a key member of the perioperative team, providing high-quality patient care in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and patient safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective patient care in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units
  • Assess and manage patients' physical and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient use of resources
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patients' unique needs
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Virginia Nursing License
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-op/PACU, with previous experience in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and establish positive relationships with patients, physicians, and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting
  • Strong knowledge of performance improvement ideologies
