Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading the design efforts for power, lighting, and communications systems on technical design projects. This role requires a strong technical background and leadership skills to guide junior engineers and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical engineering of all electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and communications systems.
  • Lead discipline on projects, developing and guiding junior engineers.
  • Apply policies relating to health & safety, quality, and training.
  • Prepare load estimation for the project and conduct primary technical calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and reviews on design deliverables related to electrical system design.
  • Develop a thorough design philosophy, effectively contributing to the inception, development, and detailed delivery of projects across all stages.
  • Coordinate and liaise with all other design team members, including architects and structural engineers, as well as clients, project managers, and QS.
  • Act as discipline lead on projects to successfully deliver high-quality discipline projects in accordance with corporate and client requirements.
  • Capability of leading MEP for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Attend external meetings and prepare design presentations and design reports.
  • Collaborate closely with remote design teams and ensure compliance with local requirements, where directed, assist and represent the satisfactory performance of their services to local clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide electrical engineering technical support and engage personally where required to successfully enable Local Authorities' approvals on all projects.
  • Support client and sustainability sub-consultant in studies, calculations, and reports for sustainability options within the project.

Requirements

  • Requires BSEE and a minimum of 8 years' experience with industrial utilities design; active PE registration is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with producing construction drawings for power distribution systems, UPS, and emergency power generation, data and telecommunication systems, and lighting is required.
