Cardiac Sonographer

Job Summary:

As a Cardiac Sonographer at Advocate Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. Your expertise in performing cardiac ultrasound procedures will help our medical team make informed decisions about patient care. Key Responsibilities:

Performs cardiac ultrasound procedures, including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, and Color Flow Doppler, to obtain accurate and high-quality results.
Assists physicians in the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs by performing echocardiograph studies to aid in complex procedures.
Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of the examination as needed.
Prepares patients for procedures, obtaining clinical history and adapting imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiograms.
Communicates clinical findings to the appropriate staff and records statistics.

Requirements:

Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS or Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography.

Working Conditions:

Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
Able to sit 50% and stand and walk 20% of the workday.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present, and frequently push or pull over 100 lbs.
Functional speech, vision, and hearing are required.
Will be required to wear protective clothing as needed and may be exposed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.
