Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture optical components through various processes including profiling, cutting, milling, grinding, and polishing utilizing specialized machinery and tools.
  • Set up and align components on fabrication equipment, ensuring setup parameters are reviewed and adjusted as necessary.
  • Prepare and manage equipment, monitor polishing slurries, and operate multiple machines concurrently.
  • Conduct measurements of part dimensions, and perform testing and inspection of optical components to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to enhance processes and implement improvements.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance on machinery and uphold a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to fostering a collaborative team culture and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Prior experience in optical crystal fabrication and/or polishing is preferred.
  • Proficient with precision hand tools and equipment.
  • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are essential.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical schematics.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in mentoring others and developing process enhancements.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Previous involvement in root cause analysis and solution recommendations.
