Job Summary

The Surplus Auction Technician is responsible for providing support to the warehousing operations by maintaining required inventory levels, ensuring specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct, and verifying stock and identifying losses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist public and charter schools with surplus items to provide gently used learning materials and resources to students throughout the District and collect the best value for aged and discarded District resources and assets.
  • Deliver a variety of items to assigned locations and/or individuals.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks to receive stock and/or fill orders for transport.
  • Maintain current knowledge of school needs and have general background knowledge of school equipment, materials, and supplies to ensure accurate information is available.
  • Manage surplus warehouse by receiving items for surplus auction, maintaining manual and electronic files and records of surplus, and tracking reimbursable CTE items.
  • Manage online public surplus auction and sales by preparing items to be advertised, removing sensitive data from devices, photographing items, and determining item description, value, and placement on auction site.
  • Operate warehouse machinery to transport large items safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in physical inventories to verify stock and identify losses.
  • Prepare written materials to document activities, provide written reference, and convey information.
  • Process all auction items to ensure proper handling and sale of items in accordance with district guidelines.
  • Provide accurate guidance and information in the sales process according to current guidelines and policies to the public concerning sales and auctions.
  • Pull orders to meet delivery requirements and ensure accuracy of items and quantity requested.
  • Receive payments for auction items and research discrepancies on orders and/or invoices.
  • Respond to inquiries related to auction items to provide information and/or direction.
  • Track requests for specific items by schools and departments to reduce excess stock and order duplications.
Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability State DOT Medical Card
