Job Description:
The Alameda County Water District is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Representative - Water Meters to join our team. As a Field Service Representative - Water Meters, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service in the field, reading water meters, and recording water consumption. You will also answer customer inquiries and provide information concerning district regulations.

About the Position:
This is a defined-term position with an anticipated duration of two years. The ideal candidate will have experience performing field work, driving, routing, or independence in the field to route or schedule their own work. You should have excellent communication skills to provide customer service in situations that may be strained and sensitive.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Read water meters in assigned areas and record meter information into hand-held computers
* Visit customer premises to connect or disconnect customer service, locate, read, and turn meter on or off as required
* Perform field checks and inspections of meters, connections, plumbing fixtures, and lines for leaks or damage
* Answer customer inquiries and provide information concerning district regulations governing service

Requirements:
* High school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years employment which required substantial day-to-day interaction with other employees or the public to provide requested services with accurate attention to detail and adherence to procedures or standards
* Top candidates will have experience performing work that required field work, driving, routing, or independence in the field to route or schedule their own work, responsible customer service experience which required following and interpreting policies and procedures and as well as a demonstrated ability to handle the physical activity and stamina demands of the job
