About the Role
As a Certified Respiratory Therapist PRN, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating patients with both acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by physicians.
- Administering medical gases and aerosol therapies, analyzing blood specimens, and conducting patient testing.
- Operating and maintaining various respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment.
- Providing mechanical ventilation and maintaining artificial airways.
- Assisting in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and educating patients about their care.
- Documenting patient interactions and maintaining safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
- A current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care.
- NBRC CRT certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within six months of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- NRP certification within six months of hire.
- One year of recent clinical experience is preferred.
