Key Responsibilities of a Computational Research Specialist
- Conduct in-depth research and devise solutions for software and hardware challenges.
- Innovate and refine optimization algorithms and methodologies to elevate the performance and efficiency of Meta's platforms.
- Architect and execute large-scale distributed software systems capable of handling numerous complex requests concurrently and reliably.
- Leverage technical research expertise to train new ranking models and execute experimental studies.
- Develop tools for the seamless migration of extensive user data across systems to support new product initiatives, scalability projects, and core infrastructure advancements.
- Employ machine learning, statistical analysis, and other data-driven techniques to formulate algorithms.
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize system requirements from stakeholders to create effective feature roadmaps.
- Diagnose and resolve technical challenges from a systems engineering perspective.
- Engage with diverse problems where data analysis necessitates the evaluation of various identifiable factors.
- Exhibit sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for problem-solving.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related discipline is required.
- Completion of coursework, internships, or research projects in the following areas:
- 1. Algorithms, data structures, or systems software
- 2. Analytical problem-solving using quantitative methods
- 3. Clear and precise communication of complex research findings
- 4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Perl, PHP, or Python
- 5. Planning, executing, and analyzing room acoustics measurements
- 6. Research in geometric acoustics, room acoustics simulation, and real-time rendering of room reverb
- 7. Designing and implementing real-time audio rendering algorithms
- 8. Adapting simulation techniques for parallel environments, including multicore computing and GPUs
- 9. Creating and executing simulation models for numerical methods, including Monte Carlo simulations, and processing and analyzing results.
