Job Title: 2nd Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:
Crew Life at Sea is seeking a skilled 2nd Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems on board our cruise ships.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all electrical systems, including generators, motors, switchboards, and control panels.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any electrical issues that may arise during the voyage.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Electrical Engineer and other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of the vessel and crew.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior electrical engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in electrical engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Electrical Engineer on board a vessel.
  • Knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with other crew members.
  • Willingness to work long hours and be on call for emergencies.
  • Valid seafarer's medical certificate and STCW certifications.
