About the Role

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory testing results to support patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, serology, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
  • Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Complete all required records and documentation pertaining to patient results.
  • Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
  • Review pending logs and result logs, resolve any outstanding workload, or communicate to staff relief.
  • Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results.

Requirements

  • A 2-year/Associate Degree in Medical Technology is required.
  • A 4-year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
  • Less than 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is required.
  • A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
  • Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including Generalist, Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
