Clinical Practice Pharmacist, Jackson West, Per-Diem, Variable Shift

Clinical Practice Pharmacists play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients. As a Clinical Practice Pharmacist with the Public Health Trust of Dade Co, you will be responsible for performing a variety of pharmacy procedures that require professional knowledge and skills in a large and complex department of pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluates physicians orders, prescriptions, vouchers, and cart fill lists for appropriateness of therapy, taking into account drug interactions, allergies, and relevant patient conditions.
• Assists in the collection of data for drug utilization evaluations and provides drug therapy monitoring and intervention through target drug programs depending on area assignment.
• Serves as a role model and educator for pharmacy students performing internships and externships, and pharmacy residents at JHS as required.
• Participates in topic discussions with clinical clerkship students when requested and provides in-services to nursing and/or other health care professionals.
• Actively participates in staff development programs, providing programs when requested, and demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
Requirements
• Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
• Pharm.D. degree or B.S. with equivalent clinical knowledge is required.
• Valid Florida pharmacy license or certification as required.
Working Conditions
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public. Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures.
