Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Structural Trades II to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and repair on various structures, including roofs, doors, gates, and windows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and repair on all types of roofs, personnel doors, overhead garage doors, vehicle and pedestrian gates, chain link fences, facility drainage/gutter systems, and window systems.
  • Carry out carpentry work, including installation and removal of walls and flooring systems, drywall installation and repair, mudding, taping, sanding, caulking, and painting ceiling tile replacement.
  • Maintain and repair low voltage electrical systems on doors, overhead garage doors, and vehicle/pedestrian gates.
  • Participate in coordination and scheduling efforts with customers and co-workers to bring contractors on base for service contracts.
  • Perform minor HVAC preventative maintenance, including changing filters and belts, lubrication of pumps and motors.
  • Engage in minor plumbing repair and maintenance, including changing batteries in flushing units, unclogging drains and toilets, faucet fixture replacement, and repairing leaks on faucets and toilets.
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance, including changing light fixtures, bulbs, and ballast elements.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, mowing, tumbleweed removal, pulling and spraying weeds, fertilizing, trimming and maintaining trees and shrubbery, lawn irrigation system repair and maintenance, sign installation and replacement, pavement maintenance of both asphalt and concrete, and general site clean-up.
  • Engage in custodial maintenance, including cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and drinking fountains, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of floors, trash removal, stripping and waxing of floors, and cleaning windows.
  • Perform weekly staging of site garbage dumpsters for easy off-base access to contractors for servicing.
  • Escort contractors and co-workers entering base and restricted areas.
  • Assist other shops/trades as needed or required.
  • Perform a variety of administrative functions, including daily timecard completion and review, Kronos timecard daily inputs and leave requests, assisting with coordination and scheduling of preventative maintenance and direct scheduled work orders.
Requirements
  • Four years of experience in the full complement of structural trades duties.
  • Must be willing and able to work on-call and overtime as needed.
  • Must have and maintain a current and valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance within six months of employment.
