Job Summary:

We are looking for a Truck Driver who can work on an as-needed basis, driving trucks and/or riding with drivers to deliver between various locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Delivery and Transportation: Drive trucks and/or ride with drivers to deliver between various locations upon request.
  • Communication: Communicate in a timely manner with company staff as required.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records as required by DOT federal regulations.
  • Compliance: Comply with Federal laws pertaining to cellular phone use.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as required to meet business needs.
Essential Education and Experience Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years truck driving experience.
  • Active Experience: Must have active truck driving experience within the past 12 months.
  • CDL: Valid Class 'A' CDL and clean driving record.
  • Physical and Drug Screen: Ability to pass DOT required physical and drug screen.
Key Attributes and Skills:
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to quickly respond to delivery/driving requests and work when provided with a minimum of a 24-hour notice period.
  • Transportation: Ability to take public transportation (plane, rental car, bus) back to starting point if a one-way trip is scheduled.
  • Travel: Ability to make short/local and long distance trips on short notice.
  • Availability: Availability for overnight travel, although this would be on a rare occasion.
  • Professionalism: Professional appearance and manner.
Physical Demands:
  • Lifting: The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Mobility: The employee is regularly required to use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, grasp, push, pull, squeeze, reach, and lift above shoulders.
  • Standing and Walking: The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit for long periods at a time, talk/listen, and hear.
  • Climbing: The employee is frequently required to climb (into trucks) and may on occasion stoop, kneel, balance, or crouch (to assess trucks).
Work Environment:
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  • Air Quality: The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
