Job Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill a Substitute list. Employment will be on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of technical and complex accounting duties to assure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare, process, audit, evaluate, maintain, and assure accuracy of a variety of employee payroll information, forms, and financial records.
  • Prepare reports and perform related duties as assigned.
  • Under direct supervision of the Director of Fiscal Services, perform complex accounting work, prepare fiscal reports, maintain financial records, and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School graduation or equivalent and two years of responsible payroll and financial record-keeping experience is required.
  • Experience in a public school setting is desirable.
Distinguishing Characteristics

Performs a variety of technical and complex payroll accounting duties to assure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner; receives and audits employee time information, reports, and related documents, data, and information; calculates hours and a variety of other payroll-related data.

Reviews and verifies employee time sheets and absence/vacation/leaves reasons; verifies proper authorizing signatures, coding, calculations, and accuracy of payroll adjustments; audits final time sheets and against the payroll register and County reports as required.

Processes assigned payrolls; inputs and adjusts timesheet, time reporting, employee, and other payroll information in an assigned computer system; generates computerized lists and reports; develops spreadsheets; assures accuracy and completeness of input and output data.

Provides technical information and assistance to employees concerning District payroll functions; responds to inquiries and provides technical information concerning related salaries, deductions, leave, taxes, paychecks, forms, transactions, requirements, practices, policies, and procedures.
