The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a Senior ITS Electrical Engineer to support projects based out of our Orlando, FL office, with opportunities for candidates in the Jacksonville and Tampa areas.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support on ITS, lighting, signal, and signing & pavement design.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the firm's national ITS & traffic engineering practice to develop industry-best technical strategies and procedures.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Foster partnerships and relationships with other consulting firms to assist with business development, client relationships, and pursuit efforts for projects.
  • Assist in marketing responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline from an accredited university.
  • Professional registration (PE) within the field of electrical engineering in Florida or ability to obtain the PE in Florida within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with electrical design on transportation infrastructure projects (illumination, signalization, tolling, intelligent transportation systems).
  • Familiarity with communication network topology design.
  • Experience with performing circuit design, voltage drop calculations, and sizing of electrical services.
  • Experience in Freeway or Arterial Management System designs.
  • Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Managed/Express lane experience (field devices, tolling, concept of operations, etc.).
  • Experience with Florida Department of Transportation design criteria and specifications.
  • Ability to lead/manage production staff in electrical design.
  • Ability to participate in business development, marketing, and client coordination.
