Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cold Heading Operator to join our team at ITW Shakeproof. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating single and multi-die double stroke cold headers and forge pointers to produce high-quality automotive fasteners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate cold heading machines to produce fasteners from cold metal rod or wire
  • Assist and observe setup operators in operation and setup of machinery
  • Select, install, and align dies, cutting tools, guides, and stops to setup machine
  • Adjust settings of dies on controls to produce product within specified tolerances and meeting quality standards
  • Maintain, oil, and clean machines on a regular basis
  • Ensure all quality and safety documentation is completed with oversight
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
  • Prior experience operating single and multi-die header machines
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to complete routine production and quality reports
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
