Job Title: Corporate Quality Assurance Manager

As a key member of the O-AT-KA team, the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our dairy products. Job Summary:

The Corporate Quality Assurance Manager will oversee all Plant Quality Assurance Managers' activities to ensure compliance with both Upstate Niagara Cooperative Inc. and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for developing consistent quality programs and requirements in support of the SQF program and certification.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate programs in support of Upstate Niagara's Commitment to Product Excellence
  2. Establish consistent Plant Quality Metrics and requirements in support of SQF certification
  3. Develop and review standardized Plant Quality reports
  4. Monitor and analyze Customer/Consumer complaint data, developing corrective action plans for continuous improvement
  5. Represent Corporate QA at Plant, Corporate, and customer meetings
  6. Design and implement quality programs as required by Upstate Niagara, customers, or regulatory agencies
  7. Collaborate with Plant Quality Control Managers to develop and implement a consistent Plant Quality Plan for each facility based on SQF
  8. Continuously review and audit manufacturing procedures to ensure compliance with established practices and procedures
  9. Ensure facility compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements, representing the facility during inspections and audits with customers and regulatory agencies
  10. Work effectively with Corporate Engineering and Plant Management to establish and validate sanitation practices
  11. Establish procedures for quality assessments of incoming goods and raw materials, working with Purchasing personnel to establish and enforce quality standards and specifications
  12. Develop and continually monitor the effectiveness of training programs for Operations and Quality personnel
Supervisor Responsibilities:

The Corporate Quality Assurance Manager will supervise all Plant Quality Control Managers, ensuring compliance with both Upstate Niagara Cooperative Inc. and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints and resolving issues.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a Bachelor's degree in Food, Dairy, or Natural Sciences, and ten years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience should include active involvement in Quality Programs in the Food and Beverage industry, with knowledge of SQF, HACCP, and statistical process control. Previous supervisory experience is required, and strong personal computer skills are preferred.

This role requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations, as well as the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The successful candidate will also be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
