Overview:
The corporate property division is undergoing a transformation aimed at enhancing service delivery. Our main objective is to manage and optimize our land and property assets in alignment with the vision and priorities outlined in the council plan, ensuring that our assets are secure, efficient, suitable for purpose, sustainable, and provide value for the communities of Chesterfield.


Chesterfield Borough Council possesses and manages a diverse and significant corporate property portfolio, which includes the Town Hall, two leisure centers, two theaters, a crematorium, and various other operational properties. Additionally, the council leases out over 500 commercial properties.


Position Summary:
We are looking for a Corporate Property Maintenance Manager to lead our corporate property maintenance and engineering team, which includes building surveyors, structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers, as well as technicians. The team primarily oversees and manages contractors responsible for executing repairs and maintenance across our extensive range of corporate properties.


Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will ensure compliance and maintenance of the council's property portfolio, keeping our properties safe, dry, and secure through the implementation of a well-resourced, effectively managed compliance regime and a repairs and renewals program. This will involve evidence-led maintenance plans that strike an appropriate balance between planned and reactive maintenance.


Additionally, the post holder will assist in the procurement and implementation of maintenance plans for each council-owned asset. You will serve as the technical lead in delivering agreed projects related to improvements, maintenance, and decarbonization programs, ensuring the allocation of appropriate resources and providing technical advice and support for major new building projects.


The role also involves leading the liaison and management of specialist consultants to provide repairs and maintenance guidance to various directorates within Chesterfield Borough Council. Conducting dilapidation surveys and associated tasks as part of the commercial estate management is also a significant aspect of this position.
