Job Summary

The Painter Specialist will utilize advanced paint application techniques and equipment to deliver high-quality finishes on interior and exterior surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and assess areas to be painted, determining the optimal quantity and type of paint required.
  • Source and procure suitable paint colors and finishes, ensuring accurate mixing and application.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, which may involve removing prior finishes through chemical treatments, grit blasting, or other methods.
  • Protect furniture, hardware, trim, and other non-painted surfaces using masking, removal, or covering techniques.
  • Apply paint to interior and exterior surfaces using a range of tools, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other equipment.
  • Perform basic stencil and line work, which may involve painting lines on factory floors, parking lots, and other surfaces.
  • May apply wallpaper, specialty finishes, and glazes.
  • Comply with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
  • Construct scaffolding according to safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Prepare invoices and other documentation detailing material and labor time and costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five years of painting experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
  • Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to distinguish among colors.
