We are seeking a Transportation Officer to join our team at Transcor America. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and secure management of inmate, detainee, and resident populations during transportation.
SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is $29.60 per hour, with opportunities for career advancement and bonuses up to $1,000 quarterly. After 6-9 months, you can take the Officer In Charge (OIC) test and get promoted to Senior Transportation Officer, earning an hourly rate increase and eligibility for quarterly bonuses.
Job DescriptionThis role requires the safe and orderly operation of assigned trips, promoting public safety, staff safety, and a secure environment for inmates, detainees, and residents. You will be responsible for monitoring and supervising inmate activity, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintaining effective communication with trip management.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, be willing to work changing hours, and be at least 21 years old. Three years of experience in Police, Corrections, Military Police, or Military Security is also required. A valid CDL Class B Permit or endorsement permit and DOT Physical are necessary before starting training.
