Job Summary

The Dawes Arboretum is seeking a skilled Landscape Construction Tech to join our team. As a key member of our Landscape Operations & Facilities department, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the appearance and functionality of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in general trails maintenance, construction, sign installation, and erosion control.
  • Complete basic culvert repairs and drainage work.
  • Assist with landscape construction and installations.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of small and large pieces of equipment, including tractors, skid steers, mowers, brush hogs, dump trucks, chainsaws, backhoes, and truck-trailer combinations.
  • Provide mowing assistance as needed and assist with brush hogging.
  • Assist in event preparation, including set-up and tear-down.
  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response team.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal, as well as clean-up of storm-damaged trees.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education degree (GED); or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated work experience in landscape construction; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and evidence of insurability.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $16.50-$19.00.
