Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Preparation and Dispensing
    • Prepare and dispense medications in compliance with department policies and procedures.
    • Operate advanced technology to assist in preparation of sterile products.
    • Understand complex allergy testing kits that require serial dilutions and mathematical calculations.
  • Customer Service and Communication
    • Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Inventory Management and Financial Transactions
    • Perform inventory control and financial transactions in compliance with department policies and procedures.
    • Complete routine benefit investigations for high-cost and complex medications.
  • Quality Improvement and Education
    • Participate in quality improvement efforts to improve patient care and pharmacy operations.
    • Act as a preceptor for training new hires, interns, and externs.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Nationally certified with PTCB or a Board-approved certifying body.
    • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a practice setting relevant to the role.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

The Pharmacy Technician III will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to medication preparation and dispensing activities. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
