Position Overview:
This role carries the authority, responsibility, and accountability for delivering nursing care through the application of the nursing process. The incumbent is expected to accept responsibility, apply proficient clinical knowledge and skills, and utilize independent nursing judgment for the care provided to patients, as well as for the healthcare providers to whom care is delegated, ensuring optimal patient care outcomes.

Essential Qualifications:
Education, Certification, and Licensure:
1. Current, unrestricted licensure with the appropriate state board as a registered professional nurse, or multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
2. Graduate nurses must secure licensure within a specified timeframe post-hire.
3. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within a month of employment.

Core Responsibilities:

5. Incorporate patient individuality and mutuality into care delivery.
6. Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
7. Utilize the teach-back method to assess the effectiveness of patient education.
8. Apply Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in nursing care.
9. Engage in the organizational patient-centered care model.
10. Document issues and concerns in the care plan.
11. Demonstrate growth in managing more complex patient cases with guidance from experienced colleagues.
12. Commit to lifelong learning through self-reflection and inquiry.
13. Maintain accountability for delegated nursing care.
14. Recognize the scope of practice for all members of the interprofessional team.
15. Participate in holistic, culturally sensitive data collection.
16. Assess the influence of family dynamics on patient health and wellness.
17. Integrate the American Nursing Association (ANA)'s code of ethics into nursing practice.
18. Identify discriminatory healthcare practices in diverse populations.
19. Customize care based on patients' beliefs, barriers, and readiness to learn.
