Position Overview:
The primary role of the Facility Maintenance Specialist is to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of both general and specialized areas, adhering to internal standards. This includes the maintenance and supply replenishment of restrooms, break rooms, and office spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct daily cleaning and monitoring of all office spaces and common areas, which includes:
- Regular trash and recycling disposal
- Wet and dry mopping of floors
- Dusting of surfaces
- Vacuuming of carpeted areas
2. Maintain cleanliness in all restroom and break room facilities, ensuring:
- Regular floor mopping
- Surface dusting
- Adequate stock levels of supplies
3. Keep daily logs of cleaning activities performed.
4. Manage custodial supply inventory, including:
- Requesting new supplies
- Utilizing company vehicles for supply procurement or transfers between locations.
5. Wear provided protective clothing when cleaning restricted laboratory areas, including:
- Uniforms, safety shoes, lab coats, hairnets, and gloves as necessary.
6. Operate at heights using ladders or lift equipment as required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Over 3 years of experience leading custodial operations in laboratory or healthcare settings.
Work Environment:
- This is a full-time on-site position in a maintenance setting, including general office, warehouse, and laboratory environments, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and disinfectants in a BioSafety Level II context.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to engage in regular conversation and communicate via telephone.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods and work in confined spaces.
- Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols for BioSafety Level II environments.
