Position: Addiction Recovery Counselor (Full-Time)

Clinical Supervision:

Facilitate orientation for new clients regarding program regulations, policies, procedures, and rights.

Conduct initial assessments, discharge planning, and treatment planning in a professional manner, adhering to federal and state regulations, CARF standards, and Pinnacle policies.

Engage clients in the assessment and treatment planning processes, empowering them in their recovery journey.

Administer comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations, considering all aspects of clients' lives, including addiction history, medical and mental health background, socioeconomic factors, and legal issues.

Utilize clients' Strengths, Needs, Abilities, and Preferences (SNAP) to create tailored Treatment Plans that effectively assist clients in achieving their short and long-term objectives.


  • Closely monitor and document any changes in clients' circumstances, particularly those affecting their recovery, identifying and addressing early signs of relapse to implement preventive measures.

Adhere to and execute the Medical Quality Assurance and Clinical Risk Management Policies, including:


Assessing clients for high-risk conditions, considering the appropriateness of treatment modalities.

Collaborate with other practitioners involved in the treatment of high-risk conditions and recommend immediate referrals as necessary.

Notify Medical Directors and Regional Clinical Leadership about high-risk clients and their specific conditions.

Maintain and distribute minutes from treatment team meetings to relevant staff members.

Address clients' clinical and special needs by ensuring referrals to specialized services and community resources.

Employ advanced counseling techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Document counseling sessions accurately, including signatures and dates, in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Participate in community outreach initiatives and complete all required training sessions.


Qualifications:
  • Possess an associate degree in a relevant field or a significant portion of approved counselor certification courses, with a bachelor's degree or 75% of required certification courses preferred.
  • Hold counselor registration/certification from a recognized certifying organization.
  • Certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor from a California-approved agency or current credentials as licensed or license-eligible with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology.
  • Maintain compliance with the Board's requirements for practice, including receiving necessary clinical supervision.
