Job Title: Diesel MechanicWe are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the University of Chicago. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing transit vehicle maintenance in compliance with company standards.
Responsibilities:- Inspect, diagnose, service, and/or repair all assigned transit vehicles and mechanical equipment
- Ensure accurate upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
- Read and interpret safety documents, blue-prints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams
- Coach and monitor team members
- 21 years or older
- CDL B with Airbrakes (will train to get your CDL) - High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Valid drivers' license with a clean driving record
- 5+ years' Maintenance experience with all types of heavy-duty transit equipment
- Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug test
