Job Summary

This is a professional library position responsible for managing the Teen Services division in the Yuma County, AZ library system. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Library Science and experience in a library environment, including supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Teen Services division, including planning and implementing programs and services for teens.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting new employees and volunteers.
  • Develop and administer operational budgets for the division.
  • Assist with grant writing and monitoring grant funds.
  • Direct special projects and initiatives.
  • Provide customer service and reference assistance to patrons.
  • Develop and maintain collections and resources for teens.
  • Compile bibliographies and provide research assistance.
  • Plan and conduct tours, speeches, and programs for public and private schools.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Teen Services division to other library branches.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Two years of experience in a library environment, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use modern office equipment and computers.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment

The work environment is a typical office setting with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. The job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. Working at a computer monitor for extended periods is required.
