Job SummaryThis is a professional library position responsible for managing the Teen Services division in the Yuma County, AZ library system. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Library Science and experience in a library environment, including supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the Teen Services division, including planning and implementing programs and services for teens.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff.
- Participate in interviewing and selecting new employees and volunteers.
- Develop and administer operational budgets for the division.
- Assist with grant writing and monitoring grant funds.
- Direct special projects and initiatives.
- Provide customer service and reference assistance to patrons.
- Develop and maintain collections and resources for teens.
- Compile bibliographies and provide research assistance.
- Plan and conduct tours, speeches, and programs for public and private schools.
- Serve as a liaison for the Teen Services division to other library branches.
- Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
- Two years of experience in a library environment, including one year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use modern office equipment and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
The work environment is a typical office setting with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. The job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. Working at a computer monitor for extended periods is required.
