POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Sales Manager's objective is to uphold the Carter's mission, vision, and values to foster a high-performing team that consistently achieves outstanding results. The Sales Manager, in collaboration with the store management team, oversees the overall productivity of their store. The Sales Manager's responsibilities include supporting the management team in driving financial performance through exceptional store standards, execution of company strategies, and positive customer interactions.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS (TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Team Management
Communicates professionally and effectively with the team, management, and associates. Regularly communicates employee concerns to the Store Manager for prompt resolution. Assists in recruitment; actively seeks candidates and reviews applications to ensure timely filling of open positions. Provides consistent, real-time feedback to the store team. Recognizes and rewards exceptional performance to enhance employee engagement. Accepts feedback with a positive attitude and takes appropriate action based on that feedback. Collaborates with the Store Manager to address performance issues of associates.Performance Management
Maintains the Company standard of a neat, clean, and organized store. Demonstrates exceptional customer service behaviors and maintains high standards throughout the store. Responsible for leading and executing an assigned Division of Responsibility (DOR) through careful planning and follow-through. Performs Leader on Duty responsibilities by driving results and responding to customer concerns promptly and effectively. Assists store management with adjusting schedules based on business conditions to maximize sales and productivity. Regularly communicates with the Store Manager to discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends in business. Utilizes customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement actions to drive results.Operational Processes
Supports the planning and execution of store processes and merchandise placement efficiently while adhering to brand guidelines. Aids the store team with Asset Protection through consistent customer service, education, and operational controls. Executes Company directives within specified timelines including visual merchandising, signage, markdowns, and sales promotions. Builds customer loyalty through company-sponsored programs. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures according to company standards.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED minimum requirement; Associate's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 year in retail store management. Demonstrated customer engagement skills. Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Basic computer proficiency. Must be at least 18 years old.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly. Ability to stand for extended periods; climb up and down a ladder. Frequent walking and standing; regular bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Regular work frequency is required to remain an active employee. Changes in availability must be approved by the Store Manager and will be reviewed based on business needs. Scheduled working shifts range from 3-8 hours in length (applicable state laws apply).
