POSITION SUMMARY

The Deputy Principal plays a crucial role in supporting the principal in delivering effective leadership across the school, aimed at fostering the academic growth of every student while ensuring the efficient management of the institution.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent qualifications.
  • Valid Professional Certification in Educational Leadership as required by the state.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience, ideally in educational administration or related training.
  • Experience in instructional practices.
  • Combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
  • Successful completion of background checks as mandated.
  • Consideration for alternative qualifications deemed suitable by Charter Schools USA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership in Education

  • Assists the principal in cultivating a productive learning atmosphere within the school.
  • Provides support to the principal in the administration of school operations.
  • Serves as acting principal during the principal's absence.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of educational programs tailored to the school's needs based on current research.
  • Evaluates the instructional programs approved by CSUSA in designated departments to promote student advancement.
  • Facilitates the procurement and utilization of educational resources for the school.
  • Coordinates services for all students, including those with special requirements.
  • Engages in the formulation of educational objectives to optimize student growth.
  • Assists in the maintenance and management of school facilities.
  • Contributes to the effective scheduling of educational programs and resource allocation.
  • Conducts continuous assessments of the educational offerings, utilizing various data sources for ongoing enhancement.

School Administration

  • Reviews departmental performance to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Acts as the principal for operational matters in the absence of the principal.
  • Provides orientation for new staff in accordance with established policies.
  • Manages personnel documentation and records in compliance with legal standards.
  • Strives to achieve and maintain optimal student enrollment levels.

Student Oversight

  • Upholds high standards of student conduct and applies disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Establishes behavior guidelines for students in accordance with school policies.
  • Attends school functions to oversee student behavior and academic progress.
  • Maintains accurate records of disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to implement behavior management strategies.

Human Resource Support

  • Assists in the recruitment, evaluation, and recommendation of school personnel.
  • Supports the hiring process, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
  • Conducts staff orientation and maintains personnel records.
  • Participates in performance evaluations and disciplinary processes.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Enhances communication among students, staff, parents, and the community to enrich the educational experience.
  • Utilizes community resources to enhance the educational offerings.
  • Engages in relevant committees and meetings as required.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

Compensation and benefits are aligned with Charter Schools USA policies, with a work schedule following established guidelines.

FLSA OVERTIME STATUS

This position is exempt from Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

Performance assessments are conducted in accordance with Charter Schools USA's policies.
