Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Wind Turbine Generator Mechanic/Technician operates with minimal oversight, executing intricate assembly, servicing, repairs, and operational tasks related to wind turbine generators and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out daily operational tasks as instructed by the supervisor, while coordinating with team members to fulfill job requirements.
  • Diagnose, repair, and retrofit complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Adhere to both verbal and written directives for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine generators and related equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records as required by the company.
  • Ensure tools and workspaces are clean and organized, including managing spills and maintaining equipment.
  • Travel to various job locations for extended periods as necessary.
  • Meet both customer and company standards in all work performed.
  • Follow all corporate, OSHA, and GETSG policies and procedures consistently.
  • Prepare service reports and work order documentation clearly and accurately.
  • Keep up with necessary training certifications relevant to the position and assess skills required for specific tasks.
  • Complete work within established project timelines.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Capable of following detailed written and verbal instructions; must have knowledge of various hand and power tools.
  • Proficient in writing legibly and passing periodic assessments to ensure current knowledge of job requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate positively.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and treat all individuals with respect.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, fostering a collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 300 feet.
  • At least 36 months of specialized mechanical and technical experience in wind turbine systems.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  1. Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Preferred: Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle report.
  3. Required: Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  4. 36 months of mechanical and electrical experience.
  5. Required: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and maintain a drug-free status.
