Role Overview

This role plays a critical part in ensuring that students with disabilities receive the educational services and instructional methods they need to succeed. The Special Education Coordinator will work closely with teachers, families, and staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), provide academic, emotional, and physical support to students, and advocate for their needs.

Responsibilities
  • Instruction: Review intake assessments, coordinate instruction, schedule meetings, facilitate IEP meetings, conduct classroom observations, manage evaluation processes, partner with general education teachers, and work with families to address their needs.
  • Special Education-Specific Responsibilities: Collaborate with teachers, leaders, and families to analyze trends in student work samples, gather academic growth data, write goals, teach instruction, and implement differentiation strategies.
  • School Culture: Build positive relationships with students, partner with families, engage in professional development, participate in school-wide meetings, and collaborate with grade-level teams.

  • Required experience: 1-2 years impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities; Special Education teaching certification required
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is between $67,500 to $106,400, depending on relevant experience, education, certifications, and tenure.
