Position Overview

The role of the Travel Nurse RN involves providing exceptional care in a dynamic healthcare environment, specifically within Oncology Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Units.

Certification Requirements
  • Review the necessary certifications as per the unit's requirements.
  • Renewal of ACLS and BLS certifications can be facilitated at the facility.
Job Responsibilities
  • Flexibility to float between various units as needed.
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff within a corrections unit.
Essential Qualifications
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification.
Work Schedule

Weekend shifts will be determined based on the specific needs of the unit.

Unit Specifics
  • The unit serves the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) population.
  • Access to the unit is controlled by Corrections Officers.
Additional Information
  • Staffing ratio: Corrections Officers to inmates is 1:2.
  • Nurse to patient ratio: 1:3 for Progressive Care Unit, 1:4-5 for Medical-Surgical.
  • Assignments may vary between Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Units.
  • Utilized Systems:
    • Medication Management: Pyxis
    • Documentation: EPIC
  • Support services include Interpretation, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Transportation.
