Position Overview: As a Facilities Maintenance Associate at Washington State University, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and care of our facilities. You will work independently, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), operate industrial cleaning equipment and power tools, and perform minor maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, emptying trash and recyclables, and dusting surfaces.
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment, such as high-speed buffers, burnishers, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners, safely and efficiently.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks, including caulking, replacing toilet seats, lavatory handles, and minor furniture repair.
  • Supervise lower-level staff, provide guidance and training, and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Requirements:

  • The ability to do required work, read and write, and six months experience in custodial, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work.
  • A valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with WSU's safety policies and procedures.

Compensation: Salary: $3,317 to $3,999 per month, range 34 (Steps E-M).
