About the Role

At Johnson Controls, we're committed to delivering exceptional solutions to our clients. As a TIG Welder, you'll play a critical role in our mission to cool the world with innovative, safe, and sustainable refrigeration solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Select appropriate welding methods, tools, and materials based on project specifications and materials being used.
  • Set up welding equipment, including selecting proper settings for voltage, current, and gas flow.
  • Operate welding machinery and tools to join, fabricate, and repair metal components and structures.
  • Perform various welding tasks with precision and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality welds and strong structural integrity.
  • Monitor and maintain welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Inspect welded joints and structures to identify and address defects or imperfections.
  • Collaborate with Team Lead to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Ability to pass the 6G TIG Test (2" carbon steel schedule 80 pipe with 70S-6 filler).
  • Willing and able to work 1st shift (4 10-Hour shifts, Monday - Thursday, 5:30AM - 4:00PM) as well as overtime when needed or when mandatory on Fridays.
  • Overtime on Saturdays is optional.
  • Demonstrated positive work history as well as reliable and punctual attendance record.
  • Strong self-directed and proactive work ethic.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift heavy objects as required.

  • $30.00 per hour (welding test will determine position and pay).
