COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

The pay range provided is not indicative of Sysco's actual pay range but is merely algorithmic and provided for generalized comparison. Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factors.

Summary:

The role entails overseeing various warehouse operations, including loading and unloading, manual depalletizing, receiving, storage, and product selection as required, adhering to Preferred Work Methods (PWMs). Each task necessitates specific equipment and/or process certification. The position involves working in diverse temperature-controlled environments, including freezers and coolers. The operator is expected to perform all duties safely, accurately, and in alignment with established productivity standards and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute tasks directed by the warehouse management system to safely transport pallets between staging areas and storage locations, following established PWMs.
  • Utilize material handling equipment (MHE), primarily a reach forklift, for product placement.
  • Inspect products during movement for any shortages, damages, or quality issues and report findings to the supervisor.
  • Replenish stock to designated locations from reserve areas as directed.
  • Ensure proper securing of pallets for effective delivery and storage.
  • Deliver stacked pallets to the loading dock to facilitate accurate staging for loading.
  • Complete the forklift operator certification process and adhere to PWMs.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to minimize product loss and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct daily inspections of MHE and report maintenance needs.
  • Utilize warehouse technology and RF equipment responsibly.
  • Comply with all relevant company policies and legal regulations.
  • Support food safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a functional capacity test.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and co-workers.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; six months of prior forklift experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to use hands for handling objects and controls.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Job performed in a warehouse setting with exposure to various environmental conditions.
Work hours:
  • This is a full-time position with varying schedules that may include shift work and weekends.
Travel:
  • No travel required for this position.
