Head Lifeguard

Mountain Recreation Metropolitan District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Lifeguard to join our team. As a key member of our Aquatics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patrons while providing a fun and enjoyable aquatic environment.

The Head Lifeguard will serve as a part of the leadership team in the Aquatics department and will oversee daily pool operations. This includes supervising lifeguards, water safety instructors, volunteers, and coaches, as well as ensuring the facility is operating effectively and safely.

• Provide for the safety and enjoyment of Mountain Recreation guests by anticipating, recognizing, responding to, and managing emergency situations.
• Supervise lifeguards and other staff, assigning duties as needed and leading staff to accomplish needed tasks.
• Monitor activities in and near the water through patron surveillance and prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.
• Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies, including administering first aid and CPR when appropriate.
• Test the pool water chemistry and perform cleaning, maintenance, and organization tasks.
• Complete records and reports, and perform other duties as assigned.

• American Red Cross Lifeguard certification (required)
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification (preferred)
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification (preferred)
• Previous related volunteer or work experience with aquatic safety, lifesaving, and first aid (required)
• Possess or be able to obtain a valid State of Colorado driver's license (required)

• $17.88-$22.35/hour; DOE
• Eligibility for a $1/hour incentive for Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test
