Job Summary

As a key member of our healthcare team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality care for our residents. Reporting directly to the Director of Wellness, this position is responsible for supervising and monitoring nursing staff to deliver exceptional care. The LPN will be accountable for maintaining the corporate philosophy of quality care and adhering to the instructions of the Director of Wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Make daily rounds of all residents to assess their condition and provide necessary care.
  • Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to the Director of Wellness or delegated RN/Physician.
  • Administer medications and treatments in a safe and accurate manner, observing effectiveness and reporting to the physician as needed.
  • Inform the Director of Wellness of supply and equipment needs.
  • Order medications from the pharmacy as required.
  • Supervise Home Health Aides to ensure proper nursing care is provided.
  • Administer emergency first aid as needed.
  • Ensure daily assignments for patient care and incidental duties are carried out by the nurse and HHA as outlined by the Director of Wellness.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the nurse's station, med room, and cart.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff members.
  • Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary.
  • Check equipment for cleanliness and condition.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing assistants.
  • Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program and currently licensed to practice in the state.
  • Work experience in the geriatric field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter.
