Job Summary:

This leadership role provides oversight and direction for a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in a clinical setting. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise and leadership skills to manage medical services, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise and leadership for APPs in daily management of medical services
  • Recruits, hires, and supervises staff, including establishing work schedules and participating in performance evaluations
  • Develops and implements quality activities and designs for assigned staff
  • Supervises educational activities, including training residents, medical students, and new NP/PA graduates
  • Assists physician colleagues in providing care and case management of patients
  • Documents patient care in medical records and conducts patient interviews and histories
  • Performs physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician
  • Orders and schedules laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
  • Educates patients on health habits, self-examinations, and behavior management
  • Participates in professional development and maintains current knowledge of trends, practices, and developments in the field

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia and certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an APP, with leadership experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, and Healthcare Provider certifications required
