Job Title: Travel Mammography Technologist

Focus Staff is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team for a travel assignment in Anchorage, Alaska.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mammography Technologist to perform mammography procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a physician office, clinic, or hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of procedures and patient safety, as well as excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-quality mammography procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
  • Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed, and establish rapport.
  • Prepare patients or areas for mammography procedures by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into position.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies.
  • Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment and report issues to management.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain relevant documentation, such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and shielding precautions taken.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Mammography Tech (Certified Mammography Tech).
  • AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
  • BSN from accredited nursing program, and proper licensure.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
