We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at General Shale, the largest producer of brick and sustainable building solutions in North America. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the operations of our commercial brick plant in Rome, GA.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery, including motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyors, using diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with production equipment, using measuring and testing equipment.
- Fabricate repair parts and repair machinery using common machine shop/fabrication equipment.
- Fabricate and install new equipment using common machine shop/fabrication equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, anticipating future needs.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to ensure continuity among work teams.
- Provide mechanical maintenance guidance to plant operations personnel.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
- High School degree (or equivalent)
- 3-5 years maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment
The majority of the time is spent standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending. The candidate must be capable of lifting to 75lbs.
