Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Check-in and Check-out: Ensure accurate and efficient patient registration, including demographic updates and co-payment collection.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Precerts and Authorizations: Obtain necessary authorizations and precerts to facilitate patient care.
  • Chart Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, including medical records and test results.
  • Phone Triage and Communication: Provide excellent phone support to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Patient Care and Support: Assist physicians with patient care, including administering medications, performing ECGs, and conducting basic laboratory tests.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory standards, maintaining confidentiality and integrity of patient information.
  • Charge Entry and Coding Accuracy: Accurately enter charges and maintain coding accuracy to ensure proper reimbursement.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with 2-4 years of clerical work experience in a medical setting.
  • Certification and Training: Medical Certification, such as a CMA, or Phlebotomist, is required. If not certified, must be able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Core Competencies: Ability to learn and perform complexities of scheduling, demonstrated experience making triage decisions, effective communication skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
