Job Summary:

The Site Superintendent/Foundations Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily site activities for Foundations projects, ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule. This role involves managing the lead personnel and staff on each project site, with a focus on delivering high-quality results while maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily site activities, including workforce and equipment requirements, to ensure project time schedule and workforce needs are being met.

Schedule subcontractors to complete work as needed, monitor their work to ensure it is complete per subcontractor agreement, and maintain a safe working environment by identifying workplace hazards and taking corrective action when necessary.

Ensure employees have up-to-date information on safety procedures and policies, conduct daily Job Hazard Awareness meetings, daily stretching, and weekly Tool Box topics, and complete daily record keeping, including daily logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and timecards.

Manage field personnel in a fair and equitable manner in accordance with Veit policies, procedures, as well as compliance with local and federal laws, address staff performance issues as they occur, and participate in pre-construction meetings to discuss project start up and project planning.

Provide timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage, and workplace injuries, according to Veit policies and procedures, ensure all work follows specified quality standards, inspect field work for quality compliance, materials for quality compliance, and review assembly of manufacturer's literature and drawings before work begins.

Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community, and regularly participate in training for construction methods and safety, supporting training opportunities for staff.

Requirements:

Five years of experience overseeing a crew responsible for installation of deep foundation systems, with experience installing and/or overseeing piledriving, micropiles, caisson, and helical piles.

5+ years' experience with foundation/ground improvement equipment (drills, concrete pumps, batch plants), ability to oversee multiple jobs simultaneously while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and schedule, and OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER certificate, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, First Aid.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, reports, construction plans, construction specifications, and legal documents, use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone, communicate and schedule project needs appropriately, and effectively communicate both oral and written with employees, clients, and other business associates.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical field quantity situations, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, and interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
