We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Newborn Nursery team at LewisGale Medical Center. Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to newborns and their families
- Work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan
- Coordinate unit activities and assure accountability of all assigned tasks
- Instruct and educate patients and family members
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
- Licensed, as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 12 months of start date
- Previous Mother Baby/Newborn Nursery or related RN experience preferred
